Conditions Over the Day:

This blog will follow along the lines of Thursday's blog. The chart above covers the ten hours since I stopped updating last night. The storm has passed, and in its wake comes gusting winds and frigid temperatures. The large mid-latitude cyclone is currently over the northern shore of Lake Superior. A stationary front is looming over the Dakotas. The next week should see a cold streak that is predicted to persist until next Friday.

The large mid-latitude cyclone has now moved to the northeast, past Wisconsin. The occluded front that had formed in the southern portion of the state has gained strength and is moving just north of the Great Lakes.

The strong winds that had persisted in the eastern parts of Iowa as the storm was over Wisconsin have now moved north, affecting the Chippewa Valley.
