Current Conditions:
Temperature: 4°F
Feels Like: -9°F
Wind: West @ 8 mph
Humidity: 66%
Pressure: 1026.9 mb é

We've been experiencing chilly temperatures in the Valley, following the large storm that hit last week. After the passing of the storm, an increase in pressure and a decrease in temperature has been experienced. We experienced clear skies this weekend, leading into this week. Our current drop back into frigid temperatures appear to be a due to a massive high pressure system, disseminating cold air southward. This is coupling with the polar jetstream to bring a consistent blast of cold air to the region. This cold snap is expected to hold steadily through Sunday. Hopefully, as predicted, warmer weather will follow! Onward to March!

Not much is happening currently, with few dominating pressure systems or fronts. Cold air is being pushed down by a combination of the Polar Jet, as well as a high pressure system and a low pressure system in northern Canada.

This shows the current location of the Polar Jet over the country. It's path currently tracks right over the Midwest, helping to bring colder air to the region.

Mild winds and clear skies are currently over the Chippewa Valley. A large amount of cloud cover to the west, with what appears to be a weak low pressure system could bring some snow to the area, with a chance of merely 20% precipitation, this evening.

This shows the current air currents over the country. Affecting us currently are the Polar Jet, and a high and low pressure system that are spinning at each others edges, pushing cold polar air south.
