Another beautiful February day in the Chippewa Valley! We are experiencing clear skies, thanks to a high pressure system to our south and our warm temperatures have been hanging around, thanks to persisting Pacific and Gulf air. This warm air has led to increased temperatures and increased moisture in the air. This has raised the relative humidity and will help fuel the large snow storm that is predicted to hit later this evening! Over the next few days we can expect one more day of warmer temperatures, a lot of precipitation, and gradually cooling temperatures. The gradually cooling temperatures should be brought by a change in the track of the polar jet pushing the encroaching warms winds further to the south.

A high pressure system is leading to clear skies over the area. A warm front is pushing through, which will most likely be bringing a winter snowstorm with it.

Dominant southwesterly winds are helping to bring warm temperatures to the area. It appears as though there is a low pressure system in the top left quadrant of the map, evident by counterclockwise, swirling winds.

This shows the winds that are currently affecting the region, as Pacific and Gulf flow dominate the area. These maritime tropical winds are helping to bring warm temperatures to most of the country.

As the week progresses we should see a shift in the winds affecting the region. The polar jet should shift to a more vertical path and bring cold arctic and polar winds from the north, cooling the area.
