Current Conditions:
Temperature: 21°F
Feels Like: 15°F
Wind: Northwest @ 4 mph
Humidity: 62%
Pressure: 1025.1 mb ê

Cold temperatures are still hanging around in the first full week of spring. Temperatures are staying above the 20's for the most part, but it was a cold spring break for those UWEC students who stayed in the area over the past week. Currently, we are experiencing cloudy, overcast skies with winds out of the northwest. Temperatures are supposed to stay in the mid 30's today, dipping to the mid 20's tomorrow, and rising to the low 40's through the rest of the work week.

A high pressure dome is currently pushing through the area, currently centered over Illinois and Indiana. It is a weaker system, so it is not affecting the surrounding areas that much.

Cold air continues to filter down, as this map shows a low pressure trough to our north, filtering the cold air down towards us.

Current conditions show overcast skies and winds out of the west. It should be noted that the Eau Claire station is currently not providing data.

The subpolar jet is currently bringing some air from the upper reaches of Canada down, as over the western portion of the US, it is very vertical in its approach.

This sounding from Minneapolis, Minnesota shows no significant atmospheric instability.
