Current Conditions
Temperature: 40°F
Feels Like: 40°F
Wind: Calm
Humidity: 53%
Pressure: 1025.0 mb ê

Thanks to some computer issues, my normal Friday blog is being done today, and what a beautiful day it is! A warm front and low pressure system are having an affect on the Chippewa Valley, and will for the remainder of the weekend and into the next week. The highs have shifted to higher temperatures, as the path of the jets have shifted as well, allowing for a rise in temperature as the warmer air pushes northward. Yesterday was nice, with some cloud cover and mild temperatures. As we move into the next few days, we can look forward to a peak of 57°F on Sunday, followed by a potential for a large winter storm to move in on Monday.

A weak high pressure system is currently hanging over the area, though pressures are dropping in the area currently. A warm front is pushing through over the Dakotas right now and will be to thank for our warm temperatures this Sunday.

Monday will bring storms to the larger portion of the upper Midwest. The more north the storm tracks, the more likely the chance for frozen precipitation.

The jet is currently flattened out over most of the county, allowing for a northward push of warm air.

This surface map shows the current conditions over the Midwest. The east portion of the map is very overcast with fog present, while the central and western portions are mostly clear with some winds from the south.

This sounding from Minneapolis, Minnesota shows the current atmospheric conditions in the area. The LI and KI values show no atmospheric instability in the area.
